Reuniting with Palmeiras is always special for Michael. After all, it was with Palmeiras that he began his career. And this Wednesday, in São Paulo, the midfielder should have another opportunity to face the São Paulo team. In the first training session before the match, held this Monday at Ninho do Urubu, Flamengo's number 80 started in the starting eleven.

"Facing Palmeiras is always an extra motivation, as it was the club that gave me a chance to play football. We're going to go after those three points," he said.

The thigh pain that kept him out of the games against Fluminense and Grêmio, in the middle and at the weekend, respectively, has now stopped bothering him and the midfielder believes he can help the team return from São Paulo with a victory.

"I'm not feeling as much discomfort. The pain has subsided a lot and I'm very happy to have another opportunity. I really want to play. I know the importance of a victory and I want to help the group get back to achieving good results," he said.

At 27, Michael joined Flamengo at the beginning of this season and has already played 12 games for the red-and-black team, starting nine of them. He scored two goals and provided three assists.
