Flamengo's lawyer, Michel Assef, held a press conference this morning in Gávea. The topic was the unfortunate events during last Tuesday's training session, when a fan threw a bomb onto the field.

"Flamengo has already filed a crime report with the 14th Precinct, and the police chief is investigating the case, which is very serious. Two of our players, Obina and Dininho, were hit by shrapnel, and we have to take action. No one has the right to do this to players. It was an attack."

According to Michel Assef, Flamengo is a Club accustomed to demonstrations, as long as they are peaceful.

"Whoever threw the bomb isn't a Flamengo fan. The peaceful protest at Flamengo is normal and welcome. It's part of football. What's unacceptable is for a criminal to throw a bomb at the players. Criminals belong in jail, and they deserve to be arrested. It's a case of homicide, because they could have killed a player."

Vandalism at Tuesday's training session has led to the transfer of striker Richard Morales being cancelled.

"I deeply regret it. The negotiations took a long time. It was a recommendation from Fábio Luciano. Maxi spoke with him, but the family didn't want to come," the lawyer said.
