"Time to trust, but with your feet on the ground"

Players know they need to keep improving to continue dreaming about the South American Cup

Results have improved, the goal is higher, but despite the optimism, it's important to stay grounded. Ever further away from the bottom of the table and dreaming of a spot in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana, Flamengo's players believe this is a time to be confident, yes, but also to stay grounded.

Midfielder Renato believes that this busy work week, with a game only on Saturday (16.10), could be crucial to improving his physical fitness and becoming even more in tune with his teammates and the new coaching staff.

"This week will be a time to fix our mistakes and prepare to win again. Personally, it's going to be very good for me. When we have one game after another, it may not seem like it, but it gets hectic. There's a trip, you don't rest, and then there's another game," said the number 11, who believes the team still has a lot of work to do in the championship.

"There's still a lot to do. We've managed to give the group behind us a break, but the situation isn't good yet. There's not much room for improvement. The team has been playing well. We need to be more balanced. Each sector needs to fix its flaws. Here, no one is responsible for a draw, a win, or a loss, but the whole group," he explained.

Physically, the player believes Flamengo is going against the grain of many teams, which have been suffering from player fatigue. According to him, Flamengo, which suffered from a lack of rhythm in some players mid-year, is now reaping the benefits of the excellent preparation they've put into their players.

"I'm happy because I see players being sidelined due to muscle injuries at other clubs, but that's not the case here. We've lost more players due to bookings, and now we've lost Diogo to an injury. The team has been improving, but it's not a good time to say this, but we're growing, and in these nine games, we'll be in very good shape. We'll also see physical, tactical, and technical development," he concluded.
