Coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, with his footballing style and impressive resume of achievements, quickly implemented his philosophy and gained acceptance from the Flamengo squad. Midfielder Renato, who was signed by Corinthians early in his career on Luxa's recommendation, has nothing but praise for the coach. One of the most experienced players in the squad, at 32 years old, he admires the manager's philosophy and work.
"I think he maintains the same philosophy. He's a coach used to winning, with five Brazilian titles. I have great admiration for him; he brought me to Corinthians. We know his ability, and I have a lot of respect for him. Even after what happened at Atlético and here, he has credit. Now it's time to turn the page, forget the past, and start from scratch," he said.
Renato points out that Vanderlei's numbers for Flamengo were superior to those of his predecessors, which proves his competence. He only regrets that the end of the year isn't as good as 2009, but expresses confidence in having more success in 2011.

I don't know the numbers, but he was better than others who came before. He always works at a high level and tries to adjust the team, he demands a lot.
