There will be no shortage of motivation in the duel with Corinthians
Despite different objectives, Flamengo will be as motivated as its rival on Wednesday.

One team is fighting for the lead, the other for a spot in the Copa Sudamericana. These are distinct objectives, but they require a lot of motivation. Willingness and a desire to win are essential for both the teams at the top of the table and those trying to climb the ladder in this final stretch of the Brazilian Championship. That's why supporter Renato sees the duel between Flamengo and Corinthians on Wednesday as a very even contest.
According to him, a classic that involves the two biggest fan bases in the country and that is so important in the championship has everything to be a great game.
"For this match against Corinthians, we'll have the same motivation as them. We also have goals, which is the South American. Besides, it's a derby between the two biggest fan bases in the country. It's always motivating to play a match like this," said the number 11, who hopes to maintain his good points average in recent rounds (eight out of twelve).
"Corinthians is in good form, having come out of a slump by winning the derby against Palmeiras. It will be a very tough game. It's a Brazilian football derby, and we hope to do our best to come away with the win. Our goal is always to pick up points at home and away. In the last four games, we've picked up eight points out of twelve, and the trend is to continue picking up points to climb the table," he noted.
The supporter also took the opportunity to avoid criticizing the Engenhão pitch and talk about the fact that fans do not attend the stadium in such large numbers as they did at Maracanã.
"We don't have to make excuses. The fans haven't really been showing up in such large numbers, but that's normal. The pitch really isn't in the best condition, but that's bad for both teams. The rain also damaged the pitch. I even controlled a few balls against Vasco and the ball ended up going wide, that's normal," he concluded.
