The Carioca Championship final will begin this weekend with one of the biggest classics in the country. Flamengo and Fluminense will face each other at Maracanã this Sunday (30), at 16 pm. Under light rain at Ninho do Urubu, the red-black squad entered the final stretch of preparation for the grand final of the State Championship.
After pre-workout activities at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), the athletes headed to Field 4 to begin their warm-up. Meanwhile, still in the gym, midfielder Diego and forward Thiago Santos continued their specific exercise routines, seeking optimal conditioning for their return to action for the Mais Querido.
On the field, after the initial physical training session, coach Zé Ricardo and his assistant Cleber dos Santos coordinated offensive movement and finishing activities. The group performed well in their shots on goal, with some good saves from goalkeepers Alex Muralha, Thiago, and Cesar. Next, it was time for tactical training, led by the club's manager.
The squad will return to CT George Helal on Saturday morning (29), when the final adjustments will be made to the team before the first clash against the tricolor team in search of the Carioca title.
