José Carlos Nepomuceno Mozer is Flamengo's new football manager. With his accumulated experience on and off the field, the former defender, a World Cup winner with Flamengo, returns to collaborate with the football department.

Discovered by Mais Querido, Mozer played with the Manto Sagrado between 1980 and 1987. In addition to the Club World Cup, he won the Brasileirão on three occasions (1980, 1982 and 1983), the Libertadores (1981), was champion of the Guanabara Cup in 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1984, the Rio Cup in 1983, 1985 and 1986, and the Carioca Championship in 1981 and 1986. In European football he played for Benfica (POR) and Olympique de Marseille (FRA). He ended his athletic career at Kashima Antlers (JAP). He participated in the 1990 World Cup and played 36 matches for the Brazilian National Team.

After retiring as a player, Mozer gained experience outside the field. He coached Interclube of Angola, Moroccan club Raja Casablanca, and two Portuguese teams: Naval and Portimonense. In the early 2000s, he also worked alongside coach José Mourinho in Portuguese football.

Now, at 55, Mozer returns home to a new role. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo wishes him success in the new challenges that lie ahead.
