Changes in the football coaching staff
By Flamengo - in
Flamengo announces that Mozer, Jayme de Almeida, and Marcelo Martorelli are no longer part of the Flamengo coaching staff. Maurício Barbieri will lead training until a new coach is appointed.
José Carlos Nepomuceno Mozer was one of the greatest defenders in the history of Brazilian football and, especially, for Flamengo, three-time national champion in 1980, 1982 and 1983, in addition to winning the Copa Libertadores and the Interclub World Cup in 1981.
Jayme de Almeida joined Flamengo to work on the coaching staff in 2010, serving as head coach on several occasions. In 2013, he won the Copa do Brasil and, the following year, won the Rio de Janeiro state championship while coaching the team. As a Flamengo player, he won the Rio de Janeiro state championship in 1974.
Marcelo Martorelli dedicated 28 years of his career to the club and was a fundamental part of several achievements.
The club thanks the professionals for their immense contribution to Flamengo and wishes them success in the next stage of their careers.
