Flamengo and Santos will play, this Sunday (05.09), one of the main games of the 19th round of the 2010 Brazilian Championship. The match marks the debut of Deivid and Diogo in the red-black attack, is fundamental for Fla to recover in the competition and for Peixe to continue in the fight for a place in the G4 and, in addition, it is the farewell of the games at Maracanã before it closes for renovations aiming at the 2014 World Cup.

In such an important match, nothing beats a victory to boost morale. Having gone four games without a win in the competition, the team from Gávea is looking for a positive result to bring the fans back to their side and continue their fight to defend their Brazilian title.

"If you get the win, your morale is high. They're a very strong opponent, who will fight for the title. We know it will be difficult, but we trust in our group to come away with the three points," said Angelim.

The players, however, know it won't be easy to leave the field with the three points. Santos is considered one of the best in the country, currently in third place in the standings and having won the Copa do Brasil. Despite the absences of Ganso and Neymar, the São Paulo team is considered a formidable opponent by the red-and-blacks.

"Santos has a young, high-quality, high-level team, but we can get a positive result. This isn't the moment we wanted, but we also have quality and can beat Santos at home. We'll do everything we can to achieve that," said supporter Renato.

Victory in the 'see you later' at Maraca – For a generation that won three Rio de Janeiro state championships in 2007, 2008, and 2009 and the Brazilian title last year, there's nothing better than ending a winning streak with another positive result. Defender David, who scored one of the goals in the victory over Grêmio that gave the Red-Blacks the title, emphasizes the importance of the three points in this match.

"We're sad to be away from the stadium where we're used to seeing players and fans, but we hope for a winning farewell. Not only because of that, but because we really need the three points. We're in a bad situation, having gone a long time without a win, and we need a result to bring joy to the fans again," he concluded.

Flamengo's lineup for the match has not yet been finalized. Coach Silas has not confirmed his starting lineup, but Diogo and Deivid are expected to form the attacking duo. In midfield, Toró, Maldonado, Renato, Petkovic, and Vinícius Pacheco will compete for two spots, alongside Willians Correa. David will form the defense with Ronaldo Angelim.
