We played well in the first half, when it was 11 against 11. Then, with one man down, they kept chasing the ball, but we had opportunities to do more. There was also the anxiety of winning the game, but that's how Brazilians are; you have to start well. We controlled the game in the second half. We could have had an easier victory. But to start, it's good. It was an important victory. They played strong, took few risks, but football sometimes requires possession. We're learning how to play. Today, we were well together. Paulo Victor barely played. We were bold in many games and lost them all. Everyone thinks Flamengo's play is beautiful, and they blame our mistakes. Not anymore. Now we're playing to win.

It was a surprise for us. We prepared with him training, and he arrived around dinner time, and he came to us, explaining that he was under a lot of pressure, both on himself and his family. He said he wasn't fit to play. There's no point in insisting on a player who isn't in the right frame of mind to play. I don't try to convince him. I called Rodrigo Caetano to inform the board.
