Coach praises ongoing project at Flamengo.

In a press conference at the George Helal Training Center, Muricy Ramalho spoke about the work that has been done so far at Flamengo. According to the coach, who boasts an enviable resume, the project at Flamengo is the one that gives him "the most pleasure to participate in".
"I'm at a stage in my career where I want to do a good job day-to-day, within the club's structure, but now it needs to start producing results. Thanks to the professionals we have here, we've greatly reduced the number of injuries. Sometimes the work is good and doesn't produce results, sometimes it's bad and it does. But now is the time to produce results, because the team already has chemistry, they've been working together for a while, so this is the moment," said Muricy.

Work report
I think the work is being done very well. It's the work I enjoy participating in the most. I'm at a stage in my career where I want to do a good job day-to-day, within the club's structure, but now it needs to start producing results. Thanks to the professionals we have here, we've greatly reduced the number of injuries. Sometimes the work is good and doesn't produce results, sometimes it's bad and it does. But now is the time to produce results, because the team already has chemistry, they've been working together for a while, so this is the moment.
Team fluctuation
We sometimes play good football. Our team is very technical. In most games, opposing teams play on our mistakes, always chasing the ball. We're not going to change our style of play because of that, but some things still need to improve.
Fans protest at the training center.
I really don't know what's going to happen. This is news to me, because I'm very focused on my work and I didn't know this would happen. People have the right to protest. But we hope they trust us, because we're going to change this situation and it will be with their support that we'll do it.
Captain Wallace
Well, here we decide things based on merit. If the coach thinks the player is playing well, he'll stay. It seems people don't have much sympathy for him, especially you (the press), but if you analyze it objectively, he is playing well.
The defensive issue
Defense starts up front. Without the ball, it's important that the attacking players press high up the pitch, because otherwise everything falls on the defense. We're training this (high pressing) a lot. The team defends well when everyone defends, and the team attacks well when everyone attacks. You can't analyze defense and attack separately; you have to analyze the team as a whole.
Copa do Brasil
We're analyzing Fortaleza. We watched the first game, Jayme went to see the second game. But yes, the team that trained this morning it may come to face Fortaleza on WednesdayYes, Fernandinho has a chance of being a starter.
Everton and Emerson Sheik recoveries
They weren't exactly bruises they had, they're scars from old injuries. It's common for these scars to bother players, especially Emerson, who's been playing for a long time. Everton has the same problem. We'll only do so when we're sure the player is fit to return to the field. We have to be careful. From the beginning of our work, we've been trying to have as few injuries as possible, and this is paying off due to the training and the structure. We're also being patient. If a player is just so-so, we don't put him in the starting lineup. They'll only return to the field when they're 100%.
Players' reaction
We are all aware that we all need to push harder for results. Those who follow the day-to-day know that this is a very hard-working group. They are indeed frustrated. I've worked in football for many years and I've seen groups that aren't concerned about anything, but this group is. They have incredible discipline and commitment to their work. Sometimes the lack of results masks these things. That's why we are confident. The group is very eager and is working very hard, so we are hopeful that we will soon achieve results.
Reinforcements for the defensive sector
The number of defensive players is very low, especially with César Martins' contractual situation. Now we'll only have three players in defense: Léo Duarte, Juan, and Wallace. We're paying attention, we're working on it, but the market is very difficult. We're looking for quality players, both Brazilian and foreign. But we know we need to make signings for that position.
