After Wednesday's (10) victory over Portuguesa, Muricy noted that the score reflected Flamengo's volume of play, which largely dominated the match from start to finish. For the coach, the team is "taking shape" and "on the right track".
In addition to analyzing the game at Raulino de Oliveira, the coach also said what he expects for the Clássico dos Milhões, on Sunday (14), at São Januário.
Check out the main excerpts from the interview:
Match analysis
We suffered very little in the first half. The pitch helped, as it gave us speed. The other pitches were slower and heavier. The second half was an unusual game because they lost two players, so it's difficult to assess. But the team is taking shape, it's becoming more solid and it's on the right track. It's still very early. Little by little we'll get stronger, but the important thing is not to let ourselves be pressured by the opponent. We had a very good first half, with high possession. Today we didn't let their team think. Márcio Araújo, Mancuello and Arão made good transitions. We are on the right track.
Mancuello's debut
He's an intelligent player who knows how to position himself and read the game. He'll be important in the rest of the championship. He's not yet 100% physically fit, but he's an interesting player with good set pieces. He'll help us.
Marcelo Cirino
It's not a concern (for the derby on Sunday). It hurt at the time, but we talked and he's fine. It's part of the game.
Millions Classic
The team played well against Atlético-MG, another highly competitive match. Sunday won't be any different; it will be a good game. We'll think ahead to see how the team is physically. But it will be a great game, as both teams are in good form.
Cuéllar's release
It depends on the paperwork. In any case, the player needs more in terms of physical conditioning, because he didn't do pre-season training here. But he's a very interesting player, who passes the ball well, and that caught our attention. He also has a strong presence, like Marcio Araújo. He came because we need a squad for the whole year.

Match at São Januário
I've played at São Januário many times. From what I've seen, the pitch is in good condition, and that's the most interesting thing. The rivalry exists, but we're used to it. What's exciting is the pitch, because then we can have good football. Last year the games were really tough. But this year neither team is playing defensively. So I don't think it will be like last year.
Emerson
I really like training because that's when the player shows the way. We have some penalty takers. Emerson trained and was the best. He practiced that way of taking penalties, but today he hit the ball low. He's a player with personality, that's what he has most of.
