Competing in the last round of the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone group stage, Flamengo travelled to Argentina and will face San Lorenzo on Wednesday night (17), at 21:45 pm, at the Nuevo Gasómetro stadium, the opponent's home.
The Flamengo squad arrived in Buenos Aires on Monday night (15), after carrying out work at Ninho do Urubu, and held training led by coach Zé Ricardo at the Nuevo Gasómetro stadium the following day.
Flamengo comes from a 1-1 draw in the Brazilian Championship against Atlético-MG. In the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone, Flamengo won their last game, facing Universidad de Chile at the Maracanã.
Reunion
In Flamengo's debut in the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone, the beloved team achieved a great victory against San Lorenzo in a packed Maracanã stadium. With goals from Diego, Trauco, Rômulo, and Gabriel, the Rubro-Negro won 4-0 and started off on the right foot.
The teams have faced each other ten times in history. Flamengo has won five times, there have been three draws, and San Lorenzo has won twice.
Flamengo hasn't played in Argentina for five years. The last time was on February 15, 2012, when they drew 1-1 against Lanús in the group stage of the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone. In matches against Argentinian teams, Flamengo has five wins, one draw, and one loss.
