In the final round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo lost 2-0 to Atlético-GO on Thursday night at the Antônio Accioly stadium in Goiânia. With the result, the Rubro-Negro ended its participation in the championship in second place.

The game
With a team composed primarily of youngsters from the youth academy, Flamengo began the match trying to exploit the passing game. Atlético-GO pushed up the defense and pressured Flamengo's ball out. In the 30th minute, Renê delivered a good pass to Vitor Gabriel. The striker tried to control the ball, but the ball fell to Fernando Miguel. With few opportunities created, the first half ended goalless.

At the start of the second half, Flamengo nearly opened the scoring. Renê passed the ball to Lázaro inside the box, who controlled it and fired a cross shot with his left foot. Fernando Miguel rebounded, and Vitor Gabriel nearly tapped it in. Flamengo improved significantly in the second half, managing to maintain possession in the attacking half for longer.

In the 36th minute, Atlético-GO opened the scoring with a header from Lucão: 1-0. In stoppage time, the home team scored the second goal with Toró: 2-0. With this result, Flamengo said goodbye to the championship with a defeat.
