In the main team's debut, Mengão beat Boavista 3-0 in the Cariocão

Marinho, Pedro and Gabi scored the goals in the good victory for the red-blacks at Raulino de Oliveira

In the third round of the Cariocão, Flamengo beat Boavista 3-0 on Wednesday night (2), at Raulino de Oliveira. Marinho, debutant of the day, Pedro and Gabi scored the goals for Mengão. It is also worth mentioning that this was coach Paulo Sousa's first game in charge of Mais Querido.

The game
With the first team making their season debut, Flamengo started the match looking to attack. In the first good move down the right, Marinho played a one-two with Matheuzinho and was fouled on the edge of the box. The number 31 shot, but goalkeeper Fernando palmed it away.

In the eighth minute, Flamengo created a threat for the first time. Gustavo Henrique unleashed a long shot forward, but Boavista's defense failed to clear the ball, leaving Pedro with the ball. The striker controlled the ball and unleashed a powerful shot that sailed over the goal. In the 13th minute, Vitinho arrived well on the left and sent a low cross into the box. Pedro attempted a backheel, but the ball went out for a goal kick.

Matheuzinho then crossed into the box and Vitinho headed it in. Pedro deflected it with the toe of his boot, but the goalkeeper made the save.

In the 21st minute, Mengão opened the scoring with the night's debutant! Vitinho stole the ball on the left and crossed low into the middle of the box. Marinho hit it hard, first time, to bulge the net: 1-0. With complete control of the game, the Mais Querido went into halftime with the lead.

After halftime, coach Paulo Sousa took off Marinho and Renê, bringing on Gabi and Everton Ribeiro. The red-and-black team exchanged passes in the attacking half, looking to create space in Boavista's defense. Until the 15th minute, Mengão extended their lead. Vitinho received the ball on the left and provided another assist. This time, it was for Pedro, who slotted it into the corner: 2-0.

In the 19th minute, Gabi nearly scored the third. Arão sent the number 9 through, who entered the box alone and tried to dribble past the goalkeeper, but was dispossessed. Flamengo continued to push forward and scored their third goal in the 37th minute. Vitinho played a one-two with Thiago Maia inside the box and crossed to Gabi, who tapped the ball into the net: 3-0. It's worth noting that this was Vitinho's third assist of the match.

In the final minutes, Gabi was again one-on-one with the goalkeeper, chose the corner, but shot wide. The red-and-black team gave Boavista no chance and secured the victory at Raulino de Oliveira.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Sunday (6) for the classic against Fluminense, at 16 pm, at Nilton Santos, for the fourth round of Cariocão.
