In the debut of Ilha do Urubu, Flamengo receives Ponte Preta

Flamengo will have an important challenge in the Brazilian Championship on Wednesday night (14). Against Ponte Preta, at 21 pm, the Mais Querido will make its debut at the Ilha do Urubu stadium, the new red-black home. The match is valid for the 7th round of the competition.

In their last match, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Avaí in the Brasileirão. Leandro Damião scored the red-and-black goal at the Ressacada Stadium in the second half. Flamengo currently sits in 15th place in the competition with seven points.

Retrospect
This is the second meeting between Flamengo and Ponte Preta on Governador Island in the Brasileirão. In the first duel, in August 2005, Flamengo won 1-0. Overall, the teams have faced each other 29 times, with Flamengo winning eight, losing seven, and drawing 14.

In the last Brasileirão match, Mengo beat Ponte Preta 2-1. Still in the first half, Gabriel opened the scoring with a header.


In the second half, Fernandinho scored after a loose ball from Diego's shot and secured the three points at the Kléber Andrade stadium, in Cariacica.
