Waiting for the debuts of the reinforcements
Toninho Oliveira explains the work that will be done with Diogo and Deivid, who hopes to debut against Santos

Deivid's excitement is high. Signed to wear the jersey of the club he's supported since childhood, the striker can't wait to play his first game for Flamengo. In a statement released by his press office just hours after signing with the Red-Blacks, the striker stated that he intends to debut against Santos on September 5th at the Maracanã stadium.
"I'm in normal condition. I'll just need a few training sessions to get into the team and get into game rhythm. I think I'll be able to make my debut against Santos on September 5th at Maracanã. That would be really cool," he said.
Flamengo's executive director of football, Zico, hopes the striker, like Diogo, can make his debut as soon as possible. After all, both spent preseason training in Europe and were already playing regularly in their domestic leagues.
"I hope they arrive to play. They both already did some work in the European preseason. Deivid played, sat on the bench for a few matches, and is ready to go. Diogo also played recently," he said.
Toninho Oliveira, Rubro-Negro's physical trainer, explains that the athletes will be evaluated based on their physiology and physical preparation, emphasizes the importance of an adaptation period, but believes they will debut very soon.
"They'll undergo an evaluation with Paulo Figueiredo, in physiology, and then some field tests. But from the news we have, they've probably already completed preseason training, which makes things a lot easier for us. Of course, there's an adaptation period, but since they're quality Brazilian players, I think they'll settle in quickly and hopefully they can help us as soon as possible," he added.
