The game
The match began with Cruzeiro taking the initiative, but Flamengo soon found its feet and grew into the match. In the 16th minute, Rossi made a great save from Ian Luccas's header. The red-and-blacks responded with a fine move down the left by Ayrton Lucas: the full-back crossed into the box, and the opposing goalkeeper intercepted it before Pedro could reach the ball.

At 32, Pulgar stole the ball in the attacking half and passed it to Everton Ribeiro, who passed it to Pedro to finish from outside the area, putting the opponent's goal in danger.
In the 39th minute, Bruno Henrique crossed into the box and the defense poorly cleared; the ball fell to Ayrton Lucas, who beat the defender and shot with his right foot, into the goalkeeper's corner, to open the scoring for Mengão.

Five minutes after the first goal, in the 44th minute, Gerson delivered a through ball to Wesley, who was awarded a penalty. Pedro converted the shot: 2-0.

Early in the second half, Everton Ribeiro took a corner kick and David Luiz headed the ball into the net, but the goal was disallowed due to the defender's lack of attacking. Flamengo controlled the game and slowed down. In the 27th minute, David Luiz came off injured, making way for Pablo, who formed a defensive partnership with Fabrício Bruno. Before the final whistle, Pulgar delivered a good pass to Gabigol, who controlled the ball well but shot wide.

Next appointment
Mengão returns to the field next Sunday (22), to face Vasco, at Maracanã, for the 29th round of the Brazilian Championship.
