Vulture's Nest will receive special attention
President promises reforms, and players are grateful. Kleberson wants a "stool in the shade"
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inFlamengo's training center, Ninho do Urubu, located in Vargem Grande, is expected to undergo improvements soon. President Patricia Amorim once again spoke about the renovations she plans to make to the facility, and the players expressed excitement at the news. Five-time world champion Kleberson was one of them. The player modeled at the launch of the 2010 season jerseys this Friday and spoke about the renovations to the training center.
\Kleberson praised the board's willingness to make improvements to the facility. He said Ninho do Urubu has everything it takes to become the training center of the caliber that Flamengo deserves.
\"We know that the training center needs some improvements, but the board is doing everything possible to achieve this. The most important thing, which was to take care of the lawn, is being done, the space there is great, big, very peaceful, so I believe it has everything to become a great training center," he stated.
\In good humor, the player discussed the renovation priorities. And anyone who thinks the player requested air conditioning, housing, or anything similar is mistaken.
\"I think the priority is a bench there in the shade for us to sit on. The players would be very happy with that (laughs)," he added.
\President Patricia Amorim intends to start work on the smaller projects first. Her intention is to get the house in order first, and then begin the larger projects.
\"I want to improve the training ground, bring the youth division administration here, do a thorough cleaning, weeding, and walling... And the plan is to bring in people to invest heavily later. I'll do my best to try to improve what we can. We'll do some temporary work, in addition to a thorough cleaning. I've asked for the grounds to be weeded. We'll also improve the youth division facilities and bring the base command, which is currently still in Gávea, here," he explained.
\The Vargem Grande Training Center, also known as Ninho do Urubu, houses all of the club's youth teams, as well as some of the professional team's training. The 136-square-meter training center features three fields used by the club. The location is famous for its tranquility, and players enjoy training there because of its proximity to Barra da Tijuca, the neighborhood where most of them live. Access is restricted to the press.
