Ninho do Urubu is once again Flamengo's home
The week before Fla x Flu will have all training sessions held in Vargem Grande

In the week leading up to the first derby of the year, Flamengo returns to training at its training center, Ninho do Urubu, located in Vargem Grande, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro. After three consecutive victories in the State Championship, the team has two important commitments in the coming days: they face Americano on Wednesday and Fluminense on Sunday. Therefore, the coaching staff decided to repeat the recipe that worked at the end of the 2009 Brasileirão: taking the team out of Gávea.

Avoiding potential euphoria and having peace of mind to work. That's what Flamengo wants by moving all of its training sessions over the next few days to Ninho do Urubu. For about three months in 2009, during the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, the team held almost all of its training sessions at Ninho do Urubu, where fans are not allowed.

"In Gávea you don't have the same concentration to work," explained vice-president of football Marcos Braz at the time.

Defender Ronaldo Angelim is another to praise the club's training center. He says training in Vargem Grande brings the team peace of mind.

"The Nest has been important, it makes us feel more at ease," he analyzed.

Vulture's Nest - The Vargem Grande Training Center, also known as the Vulture's Nest, houses all of Flamengo's youth teams, as well as some of the professional team's training facilities. Covering 136 square meters, it features six fields and state-of-the-art facilities. Flamengo relied on the support of its fans to build the training center.
The first phase of the campaign was driven by fan donations. Fans, through extensive online publicity, donated money to the Flamengo account opened during the "I Love Flamengo" campaign for the construction of the training center. Later, the "Flamengo Bracelets" campaign was launched, raising funds from bracelet sales, with the funds going toward the construction of the Vulture's Nest.
