In the 9th round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo beat Fluminense 2-1 on Wednesday night (09), at Maracanã. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Filipe Luís and Gabigol in the first half.
O JOGO
The first half started at a fast pace, and in the 7th minute, Mengão opened the scoring. Isla ran down the right and crossed into the box. Arrascaeta headed dangerously, but Muriel rebounded the ball to Filipe Luís, who unleashed a powerful shot into the back of the net: 1-0.
After the goal, Fluminense spent more time in the attacking half, passing the ball from foot to foot to create space in the well-positioned Tricolor defense. In the 25th minute, Fluminense threatened with Wellington Silva, with a first-time shot that sailed just wide of the post.
Flamengo, for their part, wanted more. In the 29th minute, after an exchange of passes between Thiago Maia, Diego, and Everton Ribeiro, Gabigol received the ball in the box and headed it over Muriel's goal. Soon after, in the 33rd minute, Flamengo extended their lead with a Gabigol shot! Arrascaeta took a free kick into the box, but Muriel came out poorly and palmed the ball away at the feet of the number 9, who finished brilliantly to make it 2-0. With goals from Filipe Luís and Gabigol, Flamengo finished the first half ahead.
The Mais Querido started the second half with the same intensity as the first and, in the 5th minute, created a great opportunity. After exchanging passes, Arrascaeta played a one-two with Gabigol and fired over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Flamengo had a goal disallowed due to Isla being ruled offside. Four minutes later, Flamengo came back. Everton Ribeiro stole the ball in midfield and passed it to Gabigol on the right. The striker found Arrascaeta at the edge of the box, who fired a weak shot.
In the 47th minute, Fluminense pulled one back with Digão. After a corner kick, the defender rose to reduce the score to 2-1.
