Flamengo's youth team thrashed Mesquita 4-0 away from home this Wednesday afternoon. With their third consecutive victory in the Rio Cup, the red-and-black team maintained their lead in Group A and remains in contention for their unprecedented fourth title in the category.

Flamengo put on a great performance, giving their opponent no chance, and easily took a 4-0 lead. The goals for the Gávea team came from Airton, Pedro Beda, and Paulo Sérgio (2). With both goals, Paulo Sérgio took over second place in the competition's top scorer list, with nine goals.

In the next round, the red-black team returns to the field to face Botafogo, at 15 pm, in Gávea.
