From Lima straight to the arms of the Nation! The Flamengo squad that became four-time Conmebol Libertadores champion landed in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning (30) and went straight to celebrate the title. The athletes paraded on the electric float on Rua 1º de Março, in the city center, and received the affection of thousands of fans. By beating Palmeiras 1-0 in Lima, Peru, Flamengo became the first Brazilian club to win the continental competition four times.

During the celebration atop the float, the players displayed the trophy and sang the fan songs that fill the stands. The party ended around 3 pm. Now, the Most Beloved will have another decision next Wednesday (15), when they face Ceará, at 21:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the penultimate round of the Brasileirão. If they win, Mengão will win their ninth national competition title in advance.
