In a fourth-round match of the Campeonato Carioca de Juniores, Flamengo put on a strong performance, defeating Botafogo 3-0 this Wednesday afternoon at Gávea Stadium. With their fourth consecutive victory in the Taça Rio, the red-and-black team reached 12 points and is the clear leader of Group A.

On the field, the first half was very disputed, with the teams having few scoring opportunities, and the score ended 0-0.

In the second half, Flamengo came out to win the game and began creating numerous scoring chances. In one of them, Airton made a great play down the right and crossed for Paulo Sérgio to open the scoring. With the goal, Flamengo retreated, and Botafogo began to threaten, especially with Júnior and Índio.

Late in the match, Flamengo scored two more goals. First, Pedro Beda finished with a fine finish after a beautiful pass from Erick Flores. Soon after, Paulo Sérgio scored his second goal of the match, curling a free kick into the right corner of goalkeeper Bruno's net. With both goals, Paulo Sérgio is the second-highest scorer in the Campeonato Carioca, with 11 goals.

In the next round, the red-black team faces Cabofriense, Saturday, at 15 pm, in Gávea.
