The game
The first half began with Flamengo looking to maintain possession. The first significant opportunity came in the fourth minute. Arrascaeta took a corner, Gustavo Henrique won the ball with a header, and the ball went just wide of the post.
The red-and-black team pressed Racing's ball out and managed to steal possession in their own half. In the final play of the first half, Vitinho went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his shot went just wide of the post.
Flamengo returned for the second half looking for their first goal. In the 17th minute, Rodrigo Caio received his second yellow card and was sent off. Racing then scored the first goal through Sigali, making it 1-0.
After so much persistence, Flamengo equalized in the 47th minute. Diego took a corner kick, Arão deflected it at the near post and put it in the back of the net: 1-1. With this result, the decision went to penalties and Racing won 5-3.
