Clube de Regatas do Flamengo expresses its disagreement with the unilateral decision of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), signed by Competitions Director Júlio Avellar, to change the official calendar of the Brazilian Championship with more than half of the competition already played. 

The CBF had been aware that the Intercontinental Club Tournament was scheduled for December 2025 since February, when the year's calendar was announced. Therefore, there is no new development to justify the measure adopted. At the Serie A Technical Council in March of this year, it was Flamengo itself that raised this issue, without any suggestions or solutions presented by the CBF in what was the appropriate forum for such measures. 

The decision, which brings forward rounds and shortens the competition period, imposes on Flamengo a heavier schedule of games and long trips in reduced intervals, in some cases even violating the minimum 66-hour interval between matches—especially after the South American World Cup Qualifiers. This scenario compromises the season's sports planning and, above all, the health of the athletes. 

The measure also indirectly favors clubs that are not participating in the current edition of the Copa Libertadores da América, creating an unacceptable sporting imbalance in a tournament that should value equality among its competitors. 

Since 2003, when the Brazilian Championship began to be played in a round-robin format, the integrity of the table has always been preserved, with occasional adjustments made only in exceptional circumstances. In more than two decades, there has never been a change of such magnitude while the competition is still ongoing. The decision demonstrates little appreciation for the organization that Brazilian football demands, disrespecting athletes, clubs, fans, sponsors, broadcast rights holders, and the entire sports industry. 

It is also noteworthy that the CBF systematically denies specific requests for schedule adjustments under the allegation of television interests, but, contradictorily, unilaterally imposes the anticipation of so many rounds, without taking into account the opinion of a club directly involved in the Libertadores dispute. 

Flamengo reaffirms its commitment to competing in the Brazilian Championship, to sporting integrity, to the fairness of the competition, and to respect for its millions of fans. 

In light of the above, the club demands that the CBF, especially its president Samir Xaud, reconsider the decision in order to preserve the credibility of one of the biggest tournaments in world football.
