Official Note - Professional Football Department
By Flamengo Regatta Club - inClube de Regatas do Flamengo clarifies that the content of the article published yesterday (11/01), on the Jornal O Dia website, does not reflect the truth.
The text about the "behind the scenes of the internal crisis at Flamengo" contains a series of mistakes that will be clarified below.
- The publication states that athletes Diego and Filipe Luís requested a change in training time due to a personal commitment. The club clarifies that this did not occur. The only time a change in training time occurred was after a Brazilian Championship match. The squad and coach Rogério Ceni spoke, and the recovery session was brought forward by an hour.
- The report states that training schedules have not been respected. This information is incorrect. All athletes strictly adhere to the scheduled arrival, meal, video, gym, and field times.
The article also states that some athletes have recommended professionals to the club's physical preparation and physiotherapy departments. Regarding the hiring of new professionals, Flamengo clarifies that the process is rigorous, through a selection process conducted by the Human Resources department and final approval by the area manager, Márcio Tannure. From that point on, the evaluation of results is closely monitored on a daily basis.
The authors of the report mention that coach Rogério Ceni only maintains dialogue with the most experienced athletes of the "85 generation," and that this fact bothers the others. It's important to emphasize that any group has diverse leaders due to affinity issues, just like in any other collective environment. It's always worth remembering that the squad knows and understands each other perfectly. All athletes are listened to. The coach talks to the players and uses the stands at the training center to discuss a wide variety of issues before and after training. Dialogue is part of a healthy work environment. This is true in any professional sector outside of football.
- Finally, the report states that executive director Bruno Spindel has been losing power behind the scenes. The club clarifies that Spindel and Marcos Braz are responsible for managing the club's football team and maintain a dialogue with all athletes, the committee, and the football department staff. The club reinforces its confidence in its professionals and is confident in its choices. Any incidents that occur behind the scenes at the training center are clearly communicated to avoid misinterpretation.
Clube de Regatas do Flamengo affirms that all processes are analyzed daily and put into practice so that the football of the Most Beloved always follows the path of achievements that mark our history.
