Flamengo repudiated the CBF's statement regarding the recognition of the title won on the field in 87

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo repudiates Mr. Ricardo Teixeira's decision not to recognize it as the legitimate 1987 Brazilian Champion.
The reasoning used for this is not appropriate, since the court decision referred to by His Lordship – issued in 1994 – at no time excludes the possibility of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo being declared, like Sport Recife, the 1987 Brazilian champion.
Therefore, there is no doubt that the CBF's decision merely reflects the personal will of its president, against which Flamengo will rebel with all its strength.
