Official Statement - Measures taken following incidents at Tom Jobim International Airport
By Flamengo Communication - inClube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that this Wednesday, May 02nd, 2018, it filed a formal request with the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro, addressed to His Excellency Dr. José Eduardo Ciotola Gussem, requesting that the case related to the acts of physical and moral violence against Flamengo athletes and coaching staff at Tom Jobim International Airport last Friday, during the team's departure for the match against Ceará in the Brazilian Championship, be forwarded to the Specialized Action Group for Sports and Fan Defense (GAEDEST).
Along with the document, a DVD was delivered containing images generated by the Esporte Interativo channel at the time, with the aim of facilitating a clear understanding of the case and the eventual identification and individual accountability of each fan who committed such acts of violence against certain members of the Flamengo professional football team.
In the official letter, Flamengo also requests to be informed of the measures adopted by GAEDEST and, if pertinent, offers its assistance to the agency in clarifying the matter, since the club's intention is to safeguard the physical and moral integrity of its athletes and employees.
Also on Wednesday, the club filed a police report at the 14th Police Station (Leblon).
