Clube de Regatas do Flamengo publicly expresses its gratitude for the dedication and competence of the Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, through its Cybercrime Repression Division (DRCI), and the Special Court for Sports Fans and Major Events, which have just dismantled one of the largest gangs involved in the counterfeiting of tickets for football matches and concerts in Brazil.

In March of this year, after successive losses and with the understanding that only by working together with the police authorities could this harmful and nefarious practice be curbed, Flamengo filed a complaint with the DRCI (Specialized Police Station for Combating Cybercrime) and has since been supporting the Police Station and the Court in controlled intelligence and monitoring actions against the activities of counterfeiters at matches on Ilha do Urubu and at Maracanã.

To prevent the counterfeiting industry from thriving and proliferating, one player has a crucial role: the fan. By buying tickets from scalpers, fans cause losses to the club and fuel a chain of card cloning that harms many innocent people.

Fulfilling its role, Flamengo will continue to reinforce security controls and practices in the sale of its tickets. And it will work alongside the authorities to ensure that incidents like this are fully investigated and those responsible are punished.
