OFFICIAL NOTE
By Communication - Flamengo - inRegarding the article published in this Saturday's edition (30/03) of the newspapers O Globo and Extra, by reporters Diogo Dantas and Venelouis Casagrande, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo clarifies that the content does not correspond to the truth.
The reporter, whose name is Venê Casagrande, maintained contact with the club's press office, as well as with vice president of football, Marcos Braz. At no point was it mentioned that the football department doesn't consider it important to have a psychologist on the professional football coaching staff.
In the first contact between the reporter and the press office, the topic was "Flamengo's emotional imbalance." The psychologist was asked to speak on the subject. Minutes later, according to the reporter himself, the topic had changed to "Flamengo dismisses psychologist because it sees no need for the professional on the committee."
Psychologist Alberto Filgueiras was transferred to another department a month ago. And no one at the Club was questioned about it. However, what is most strange is the post made by reporter Venê Casagrande on his Twitter profile. By saying that "Marcos Braz thinks the locker room has changed" and that "the football department does not see the need to have the professional on the committee", the professional is not telling the truth about what was discussed with the director himself in the last phone call made on Friday night (29/03).
Flamengo and its vice president of football have always recognized the importance of a psychologist's work in football. And a misleading report won't speed up or slow down any internal process.
