This Thursday (March 25.03), Flamengo fans from Brasília will have the opportunity to see their favorite team up close. Flamengo's reserve team faces Al Khoyol, from Lebanon, at 20:30 pm, at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in a match commemorating the National Day of the Arab Community in Brazil.

The last time the Red-Blacks played an international friendly was in 2006, when they participated in the Montevideo City Cup. Coach Andrade, who participated in many such matches as a player, praised the initiative.

"It's an important game, especially for the sake of diplomacy and the Flamengo brand. It's an international match, an exchange, and that's very important for the club," analyzed coach Andrade, who, despite not coaching the team, will be keeping an eye on what happens in the federal capital.

"On the field, it's crucial for some players who may still have chances in the upcoming matches. We have Michael, Dênis Marques, Gil... All experienced players who have the quality to be in the first team," he explained.

One of the players most excited about the opportunity to showcase his talent is goalkeeper Paulo Victor. After all, it's not every day that the team's third-choice goalkeeper gets to take the field in an official match.

"For a backup goalkeeper, it's always difficult to maintain match fitness. For example, I'm the third goalkeeper, and sometimes you might end up not playing for a year or two. But even so, when you need to come in, they hold you to the same standards, as if you were a starter. So, any match is very important for us," he said.

The person who will lead this group is assistant coach Marcelo Salles, who also sees the match as a chance to prove his worth.

"These players have the same chance I'm having. It's a mixed group, with experienced players still looking for a starting spot, and some young players who can benefit from the experience of the rest of the group. I believe it will be a very good experience," he concluded.
