Score as many goals as possible. It's simple, it's obvious, and it's what a striker needs to be successful wearing a club's jersey. And that's what Deivid and Diogo want now that they'll play for Flamengo together. The blend of experience and youth, plus the goal-scoring instinct they both possess, promises to give the Red-Blacks a strong attacking duo to compete for the top spots in the Brasileirão.

Naturally, both will be compared to Adriano and Vagner Love, the so-called Empire of Love. But that doesn't bother Deivid. At 30, the Rubro-Negro's new number 99 knows the important thing is to do his best to ensure the fans embrace this duo as warmly as they did in the first half of the year.

"That's normal, especially considering Adriano was a Brazilian champion and Love played great games. But they have their quality and we have ours. The most important thing is for each of us to do our best to help the team," analyzed the player, before warning that neither he nor Diogo can be considered solutions to problems, but rather two more players with the objective of helping Flamengo.

"First, let's play football and show our worth. Everything comes naturally. We know the responsibility, but we're not the solution. Pressure is natural. That's what players are like; they thrive on pressure, adrenaline, and responsibility. In football, when there's no pressure, something's missing. If we play well and do what we have to do, we'll help the team, and that's what matters," he said.

Diogo agrees and hopes to be very successful alongside his new strike partner at Flamengo.

"We haven't talked yet, but Deivid is a great player and I think we'll fit right in. We'll do our best to help Flamengo achieve good results. I've seen Deivid play a lot and I hope to be successful alongside him. We know the effort the board put in to bring us in, and that has to be reciprocated on the field," he added.
