Tuesday (June 15.06) was a day of little news at Gávea, but one thing was the main topic of the day: Zico's start as executive director of Flamengo's football club. Right after training and the players' presentation, "Galinho" gave a press conference and spoke about his plans for the future as Flamengo's director.

Zico spoke extensively with the players and coaching staff at the start of training and stated that this will be one of the main policies of his management. Furthermore, the eternal number 10 at Gávea took the opportunity to dismiss rumors of possible changes at the club and revealed his desire to have another big name leading the way alongside him.

News
Everything is decided collectively here at Flamengo. I'm simply the person speaking on behalf of the Football Department. I spoke with Rogério, and to give him more peace of mind to carry out his work, we decided to make some changes. He gave me ideas, I gave him others, and we arrived at these names. They are competent professionals, and combined with the trust we have in them, it only helps Flamengo. Nothing against the other professionals who were here, who are also competent. It was simply a change.
 
Coach
Flamengo's coach is Rogério. We know that football is a day-to-day affair, and that everyone in this position is an interim coach. We'll provide him with all the conditions necessary to do a good job leading the team.
 
Exclusive
All the professionals here have contracts with Flamengo. They will all have to comply with the club's rules. They need to be happy here. I think players need to go out on the field and always give their best. And we, who work off the field, need to provide them with all the conditions they need to do so.
 
New Arrivals
I also intend to hire a manager for Flamengo's professional football team to work with me. He would be the person to liaise between Isaías and me.
 
Renovations
All the players who returned today are of interest to us. Maldonado, David, and Toró's contracts are expiring, but we're in talks to renew them. This needs to be resolved as quickly as possible so they can work with peace of mind.
 
Gávea or CT
Today, the professionals told me they prefer to work here, in Gávea. That's why I want to set up the training center as quickly as possible. This would be great for us to do all our training there. Tomorrow, I'll meet with the youth soccer team to provide guidance there as well, and I'll evaluate Ninho.
