The Joker is back! Gerson is Mengão's first signing for the 2023 season.
The 25-year-old midfielder signed a contract with the Mais Querido until December 2027.

The Joker is back! After negotiations with Olympique de Marseille, Flamengo announced this Tuesday (3) the return of midfielder Gerson, a multi-champion with the club in 2019/2020. At 25 years old, he signed a contract with Mais Querido until December 2027 and is the first reinforcement for the red-black team for the 2023 season.
Having come up through the ranks at Fluminense, Gerson was sold to Roma in 2016. Two years later, he transferred to Fiorentina on a season-long loan. In mid-2019, he joined Flamengo and was a regular starter for the team that won the Libertadores and Brasileirão titles (2019 and 2020).
In 2020, before being sold to Olympique de Marseille, Coringa was also champion of the Brazilian Super Cup (2020 and 2021), Recopa Sul-Americana and Campeonato Carioca.
