"Flamengo is difficult to beat at home"
Willians highlights the strength of Rubro-Negro when playing at home in the Brasileirão

Flamengo proved, last Sunday (01.08), against Vasco, once again, that favoritism does not enter the field in football. Pointed by many as the team with the best chance of winning the classic during the week, the team from São Januário did not impose its football – on the contrary, it ended up being dominated by Flamengo – and could not escape the draw with the Rubro-Negro.
Coach Rogério Lourenço's team, in fact, had the best scoring chances of the derby and could have come away with the victory. A feat celebrated by midfielder Willians. One of the standout players on last year's Brazilian championship team, he highlighted Flamengo's strength at home and warned that the team is tough to beat on its home turf.
"They said during the week that Vasco were favorites, but when Flamengo plays at Maracanã, you have to respect them. We may not be in a good phase, but we have a great squad and we proved today that it's not easy to beat us here," he said.
Just three points from the top four, Flamengo has a direct clash for the top positions next Sunday (4): they face second-placed Corinthians, away from home, at 08.08pm. Confident, Willians is thinking about returning from São Paulo with the victory.
"We're in the fight and we'll work during the week to play a good game and leave São Paulo with a victory on Sunday. We can and will try to play a great game at Pacaembu," he concluded.
