The excitement surrounding Diego Alves' arrival began on social media. With many calling for the goalkeeper's announcement, it fell to the player himself to introduce himself to the nation and announce that he now officially joins Flamengo.
Arriving early in the morning at Santos Dumont Airport, Diego Alves appeared wearing a Nação Rubro-Negra jersey and immediately met an enthusiastic group of fans. He then proceeded to the George Helal Training Center, where he was greeted by executive director Rodrigo Caetano and met the entire coaching staff, Ninho do Urubu staff, and his teammates, who were training there.

Reuniting with familiar faces at the training center, Diego expressed his joy at arriving at the Mais Querido. The goalkeeper, who had known Diego Ribas since his childhood in Ribeirão Preto, Márcio Araújo, with whom he played for over ten years at Atlético-MG, Alex Muralha, and Everton Ribeiro, his Brazilian national team teammate, had a quick tour of the Ninho facilities and fields before heading to Gávea for his presentation.

The player arrived at the club headquarters late in the afternoon. Surrounded by anticipation for the grand presentation, Diego Alves met with president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello and part of the club's board of directors before arriving at the grand ballroom to his first press conference as a player for Mais Querido.

Finishing his first day as a Rubro-Negro player, the goalkeeper visited Fla Memória, an exhibition that tells the glorious history of Flamengo. Surrounded by many fans and his family, Diego Alves thanked everyone for their kindness and took photos with those present.

"It was a very busy first day, but that's always the case. I had to sort out a lot of paperwork, get to know the work environment, and then come to make the official presentation. It was great, very positive. I'm very happy that everything went well. Now it's time to get back to focusing on work and doing it to the best of my ability," the goalkeeper told the Official Website exclusively.

Ready to start work at Ninho do Urubu, Diego Alves will be at the Training Center this Tuesday (18), starting training with the Mais Querido squad.
