These are the tribulations of a fan, who sometimes spends six hours in a huge line to buy tickets, two hours in yet another line to get into the Maracanã stadium, and braves strong sun or heavy rain to support their team. Whether they're champions or not, whether they win, lose, or draw. Flamengo fans endured all of this for 17 years until they once again shouted the Brazilian champion. Therefore, no one deserves this title more than the Red-Black Nation.

The more than 33 million fans worldwide were the main honorees at the players' and coaching staff's celebration. On Monday morning, still enjoying a day of heroes, coach Andrade and defender David were guests on the news program RJ TV, on Rede Globo de Televisão, and lavished praise on the fans. For Andrade, the greatest winner in the history of the Brazilian Championship, with five titles as a player and now one as a coach, and one of the greatest idols in the 114 years of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, it was incredibly emotional to have his name chanted by the fans at the end of Sunday's game.

"That's what fans are all about. They always follow us, wherever we go, they're always behind our team, filling the stadiums, and nothing is more fair than giving them this title, 17 years after 1992, when the club last won the Brazilian title," he said.

One of the title heroes, defender David was only five years old when Flamengo won its second-to-last national title. Despite this, he emphasizes the importance of ending this long wait, which had been a source of frustration for Flamengo fans. For the number 40, winning the title wearing a Flamengo jersey is a special feeling.

"It's different, special, the fans are the biggest in the world, wherever we go they're with us, and it was well deserved. We ran for ourselves, but also for them, who went 17 years without a title. Thank God, everything worked out and the whole group is to be congratulated for having achieved this goal," he added.
