The striker was the best on the field in the 5-0 rout of Coritiba last night at Maracanã.
By Flamengo Archive - inStriker Obina was a picture of joy at the players' return this afternoon at Gávea Stadium. The number 18 was the star of the red-and-black team in the 5-0 rout of Coritiba last night at Maracanã. Obina scored one goal and had a hand in three others in the impressive victory, which put Flamengo back in the top four of the Brazilian Championship.
"I'm very happy today. It's a very pleasant Friday here in Gávea, both for me and my teammates. We achieved a very important victory yesterday, which put us in the top four. But it's over. Now it's time to focus on Vitória."
Obina said that the support of his teammates and family was fundamental in his turnaround.
"I know people will say I've lost weight, but I'm the same weight as always. It's the support of my family, friends, and teammates that gives me the strength to fight and work. I've always tried to dedicate myself completely, even when I was away from the team. I knew the opportunity would come along eventually. I'll continue working hard, with humility, and always respecting my teammates. I hope to bring more joy to the Flamengo fans, because they deserve it."
