Obina hopes for an opportunity among the starters
The striker is happy with the support of coach Caio Júnior.
By Flamengo Archive - inOne of Flamengo's standout players in the 4-2 defeat to São Paulo, striker Obina hopes for a chance among the starters for next Sunday's match against Ipatinga in Minas Gerais.
"I've been waiting for an opportunity for a long time. I know Caio praised me, and it's always good to know the coach is supporting you. What I want most is to be a starter; that's how I had my best period at Flamengo, but always respecting my teammates and knowing that everyone wants to help the team."
For the number 18, starting matches as a starter or as a substitute are completely different situations.
"It's different coming on in the second half, because sometimes it takes time to get into the rhythm of the game. I'll do my part and also look for a goal, which I haven't managed to do yet in the Brazilian league."
Obina lamented the defeat to São Paulo at the Maracanã, but made a point of remembering the importance of getting points in away games.
"São Paulo is an excellent team, but we need to understand that we can't afford to drop points at home. Furthermore, we have to strive for good results when we play away as well."
