Obina highlights the dedication of the red-black team
Striker recalls absences, early goal conceded and Alvaro's sending off to praise his teammates
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inStriker Obina made his first appearance since returning to Flamengo in 2010 on Sunday afternoon. Wearing the number 20 jersey, the center forward didn't score, but he performed consistently well, playing well as a pivot and participating in the first Flamengo goal, scored by Kleberson. Aware that the 3-2 victory over Duque de Caxias wasn't easy, Obina was full of praise for his teammates, who, he said, deserve congratulations for their dedication on the field.
\"The team gave it their all until the end. We lost an important man, our defender Alvaro, but we withstood the pressure and scored the goal in the end. Congratulations to the team," he said.
\Before being sent off, Alvaro gave an interview during halftime, stating that the difficulties in the match were expected. He said the team had little time to prepare in Porto Feliz, in the interior of São Paulo, while Caxias had already been preparing for the State Championship for a long time, and this ultimately made a difference.
\"It was expected that we would have difficulties. Physical work makes a big difference. We worked hard in preseason, our legs are heavy, we haven't played any friendlies... But we have to overcome this with determination. The sun is punishing, the opposing team is well-positioned, it's tough, but with determination, Flamengo can always overcome," he analyzed.
