The thermometers of the red-black team

Praised by Rogério Lourenço, full-backs Leo Moura and Juan remain key players at Flamengo

Since 2006, when they began playing together at Flamengo, Leonardo Moura and Juan have become fundamental pieces in the tactical schemes of the various coaches who have worked at the club to date. Whether through training or their own instincts, the duo has worked so well that they've become the most targeted by opponents. Even so, they continue to deliver results and serve as a barometer for the Rubro-Negro.

Coach Rogério Lourenço explains. According to him, when the team can play well on the wings, with strong performances from Leo and Juan, the team thrives.

"Leo and Juan are the team's barometers. They're the players who, when they're good, make the team perform better, and when they're bad, the team feels it. They're players who try to make a different play and can decide a match in our favor. That's why they're crucial to the group, in addition to their leadership and the connection they have with the club," he stated.

Leonardo Moura, the club's captain, recognizes the importance of the duo with Juan, but states that this good on-field chemistry only comes with hard work.

"We know how important we are, but that only happens if we continue working. We have to keep helping our teammates, making plays, and then the goals will come and we will continue to be important to the team," he added.

Leo and Juan are the players who have played the most for Flamengo in the current squad: number 2 has played 286 games, scored 37 goals and provided 51 assists for Rubro-Negro, while number 6 has played 235 games, scored 32 goals and provided 62 assists.
