Red-Black Nation
The Flamengo fans are a spectacle, a beautiful thing. I confess I got emotional before the game started with this family atmosphere and so many children. It reminded me of Japan, in those games that take place at one o'clock in the afternoon.
balance
Patience in scoring goals was the theme of our pre-match talk and at halftime. We watched a lot of Joinville's games, and the team deserves credit for that. Guerrero's participation was crucial because he held the ball up front.
Gabriel
I was already counting on him. I knew him from playing against him when he was at Bahia, and he was recovering from an injury and having excellent training sessions. He will continue to have the opportunity to be in the team at any time.
Operation
Without a doubt, Flamengo played a very good match, and patience was a key factor. Throughout the game, we knew what we were facing and prepared ourselves to overcome the difficulties our opponent created. We had a very good first half, even better than the second, when we scored the goals. We gradually wore down our opponent's resistance.
Guerrero
Guerrero is receiving his medication normally. The injection no longer has the negative connotation it had years ago, like with Garrincha... It's not that anymore. It's a special treatment. I haven't spoken to him after the game yet, but his effort for the team and his commitment were visible. When I felt he was losing his breath, I took it out. I think that's essential: having this overall group vision, everyone participates, everyone gets involved, and the most important thing is understanding Guerrero's role in the match. It was fundamental for Flamengo to dominate like that. It's very difficult to play against Joinville.
Guerrero's replacement
I took that into consideration. He put in a lot of effort, moved around a lot, and took a lot of hits, which is especially common in these games where we dominate and he receives the ball a lot. I was hoping he would score, but I felt he wouldn't maintain that level of performance, so I thought it was better to take him off and put Kayke on, who also deserved it.
Ayrton's goal
That's great. Ayrton has that quality in his ball striking. He practices that free kick a lot, especially this week when he had a chance to play. He's a guy who works hard and deserved that goal.
future
Let's see. When the team starts winning again, confidence returns. Just as there was a decline in performance after losses, we expect to grow with victories. We'll work hard and I believe we'll get points and get closer to our goal.
