On Thursday afternoon (20.08), the Flamengo's board of directors reached an agreement with Cristóvão Borges, who was released from the club. The new coach was announced shortly after: Oswaldo de Oliveira took over and has already given a press conference.

"I'm happy to be back. Things are always great at Flamengo," said the coach, who previously worked at Mais Querido in 2003. Regarding the current team, Oswaldo was optimistic. "I've seen the team's games, we need to fix a few things, and we'll start tomorrow. Flamengo has a strong team, and I'm very proud to be back," he said.

The new manager reaffirmed his affection for the Red-Blacks. "It's my favorite team. May the fans be with us and support us as we strive for our goals," he concluded.
