Pacaembu is unforgettable for Rogério Lourenço

Coach says victory against Corinthians in the Libertadores will be eternal in his memory

By - in
In his first opportunity as a professional coach, Rogério Lourenço took over Flamengo in a series of round of 08.08 matches in the Libertadores and, without being intimidated, secured qualification for the next stage of the competition at the opponent's home ground. This rival is the same one from next Sunday (2), at the same Pacaembu stadium that saw the 1-XNUMX defeat, which, thanks to a goal scored by Vagner Love, gave the red-blacks qualification.

That's why Flamengo's coach makes no secret of the fact that he'll be emotional when he steps foot in Pacaembu again. According to him, that match will be forever etched in his memory.

"That game was a great moment for us in the season. They played much better in the first half of that game and we ended up improving and qualifying, something that very few believed. It's a really cool memory and you can be sure that I'll remember it every time I return to Pacaembu," he said.

This time, however, a loss won't be a result anyone would celebrate in Gávea. Therefore, Rogério is already making plans to capitalize on his team's strengths on Sunday.

"We can make better use of our attacking aerial play, and we have players who excel at this play and Pet's skillful passing. Many games are decided this way, and it's our homework to work on it throughout the week," analyzed the red-and-black manager.

In the history of the match, Flamengo has a slight advantage: 47 wins, 24 draws, and 44 losses, in a total of 115 matches. At Pacaembu, the team from Gávea has played 113 times, winning 35, drawing 29, and losing 49.
