Pacheco says he feels comfortable as a second striker

Vinícius Pacheco's confidence is high on the eve of another opportunity to showcase his talent for Flamengo. This Saturday (June 05.06), he's expected to start once again as a second striker, seeking to get closer to the center forward and dropping back to the wings to capitalize on his strength: speed. The young player, just 25 years old, is confident he can perform well in this position.
"I've been playing in this role for a few games now and I believe that in this game against Goiás we'll have a very difficult match, but we can come away with the victory. I feel comfortable playing as a second striker, dropping down the wings, and I hope we can get the result," he said.
Knowing that he has the trust not only of his teammates but also of the coaching staff, Vinícius celebrates another opportunity to show his worth to the Red-Black Nation.
"I'm calm. Professor Rogério Lourenço trusts me. If he didn't, he wouldn't give me these opportunities. And I believe I'm working hard to perform as well as possible on the field," he said.
A midfielder by trade, the player has the statistics on his side this season. He started 19 times and came off the bench ten times. He provided 11 assists and is Flamengo's leader in this category this season, in addition to scoring four goals.
"I'm happy to hear these numbers, but I try not to get too carried away by statistics. I'm a pretty laid-back guy and I know that the same people who praise me today may criticize me tomorrow. That's normal and I don't pay attention to these things. I try to do my job and perform as well as possible," he added.
