Doctor Márcio Tannure gave a press conference on Monday afternoon (28), at Ninho do Urubu, to explain the overview of coach Abel Braga's health status.
"We are here to issue an official statement regarding Abel Braga. Yesterday (Wednesday), during the game, he felt unwell and was treated by the club's doctors, as well as by the Maracanã medical team. They provided initial care. He was then referred to the Pró-Cardíaco Hospital, where his personal doctor was also contacted, and additional tests were performed. He arrived with arrhythmia. He underwent cardioversion today (Thursday) to reverse it and is stable, with a normal heart rhythm. To definitively resolve this problem, we discussed it with him and his family, and it was decided to perform an ablation tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, which is a definitive treatment for this type of pathology."
The doctor explained the procedures that will be performed on the Rubro-Negro coach.
"He had already had this in 2015, if I'm not mistaken, and has been monitoring it ever since. The time has come for treatment. Once the ablation is done, life can go back to normal. It won't prevent him from practicing his coaching activities."
