After the squad had a day off last Sunday, work resumed on Monday morning (9) at Ninho do Urubu. Coach Maurício Barbieri took the opportunity to work on the players' technical side and, at the end of the training sessions at Field 5, Lucas Paquetá gave a press conference, highlighting the importance of the preseason at Mais Querido.
"It's an important period. We're always looking for time to work. It's a very important time for Barbieri to implement his ideas. Now it's time to get back in good shape for the Brasileirão and other competitions," said Paquetá.
The Nest Boy also commented on the work that Maurício Barbieri has been doing with the squad during the break for the World Cup in Russia. "Barbieri has maintained what we ended up playing, with three midfielders. I feel comfortable further back. He's also been practicing a 4-4-2. It's good that we'll have different formations for different situations," he analyzed.
Finally, the number 11 highlighted the qualities of Fernando Uribe, the club's new signing. Lucas Paquetá also praised the competition the center forwards will face for the rest of the season. "Uribe is a fast player and a great finisher. Like Guerrero, Lincoln, and Dourado, he's a great player. We're well-served up front, and I'm sure whoever comes in will deliver," he added.
