With one coming from the U-17 team and the other from the U-20 team, a partnership with Flamengo's DNA is forming in the first team. "We've been working hard in training and talking a lot. We talked on the bus to get to know each other even better, and on the field, we were able to give our best. The most important thing was helping Flamengo," the number 39 praised.
Regarding his new role, proposed by coach Reinaldo Rueda with the help of assistant coach Jayme de Almeida, Paquetá emphasized that his dedication in training was crucial in getting this opportunity. "It's a funny situation, one I always joked about with the guys in training, and I ended up getting the opportunity to go in and do my best. I've always tried to do my best on the field, to improve in each position because I don't know where it will come from. Today I was able to play a great match," he celebrated.
Having not started a match since the Campeonato Carioca, muscle fatigue in the final moments of the match was inevitable. Despite the discomfort, the "Garoto do Ninho" managed to endure until the end, emphasizing the importance of the physical work being carried out daily by the professionals at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center and by the club's new physical trainer, Carlos Eduardo Velasco.
"I haven't played a full game for a while, but the coach has been doing excellent physical work and I managed to endure, even with the pain. Now it's time to rest, work, and when the next opportunity comes, take advantage of it again," Paquetá projected.
Starting this Monday (21), the focus will turn to the Copa do Brasil, a competition in which Mais Querido will decide the place in the grand final against Botafogo. The match will be played on Wednesday (23), at the Maracanã stadium, with the ball rolling from 21:45 pm.
