At just 20 years old, the midfielder, who has been playing as a center forward under Reinaldo Rueda, scored the red-and-black goal in the 1-1 draw against Cruzeiro.

Rueda gave the "Garoto do Ninho" another opportunity to lead the attack, a position the new "false 9" for the red-and-blacks has proven increasingly accustomed to. With another consistent performance, he capped it off with a goal. Despite his dissatisfaction with the final result, Paquetá expressed his joy at fulfilling his dream of putting the ball in the back of the legendary Maracanã net in front of the nation.

"It's been a childhood dream of mine, ever since I was little, dreaming of playing for Flamengo at the Maracanã. Today I was happy to score the goal. I'm sad about the result, but I think we played an excellent match. With a lot of commitment and determination, just like the fans like to see. We have to keep working hard and focused so we can play well there and become champions," he said, praising the new opportunity he's received. "I feel comfortable being on the field. I want to play, fight, and help Flamengo. I've had another opportunity up front. My original position is midfield, but wherever the coach wants to put me, I'll give my best," he added.

The number 39 lamented the late goal that leveled the score. However, Paquetá praised the team's performance, emphasizing the grit displayed by everyone involved. "We could have won, but that's part of a football match, a final. We're celebrating our work, our dedication on the field, and we have one more game to give our best once again," he commented.

Despite his young age, the number 39 didn't feel pressured playing in front of a packed stadium, emphasizing the importance of the fans who supported the Mais Querido throughout the match. "The fans don't pressure, they encourage. It was a dream come true. I'm happy to have participated in this final, for the goal. Now it's time to keep working. We played an excellent match and now it's time to decide the game at their home ground," he concluded.

This Sunday (10), Flamengo's attention turns once again to the Brazilian Championship, and with a classic ahead. At Engenhão, Flamengo will face the Botafogo team, with the ball rolling from 19 pm.
